The iac Advanced Open Water Diver is a certification level that you can achieve after completing three specialties. These include: two required specialties and one elective specialty.

The SSI Advanced Open Water Diver is a certification level. It consists of four individual specialties, and you need to complete at least 24 dives to achieve AOWD certification.

The process to obtain the SSI AOWD is as follows:

You'll complete four SSI specialties of your choice. Once you've completed them and verified 24 logged dives, SSI will activate your AOWD certification in the SSI app. You can optionally order a plastic card by mail (for a fee, €29.90, order separately).
