OPEN WATER DIVER
This course is your introduction to diving!
The DIN/ISO compliant and internationally recognized training entitles you to dive to a depth of 20m worldwide.
The OWD - Open Water Diver is your entry into the sport of diving. In this course, you'll learn all the skills you need to conduct independent dives worldwide to depths of up to 20 meters.
Course duration: 4 sessions of 4 hours each
3 appointments at the indoor diving center
1 outdoor session (diving lake)
Theory Training: After registration, you will receive access to the e-learning course. This allows you to easily prepare for the course. During the sessions at the indoor diving center, the basic topics will be reviewed in class, any questions will be answered, and the theory exam (30 MP questions) will be taken.
Practical Training: (7 dives) With a pool depth of 20m and a water temperature of 26°C, our indoor center offers the perfect environment for professional diving training. You will complete the practical training on 4 dates:
Date 1: Indoor training 4 hours / 1 dive, theory briefing Date 2: Indoor training 4 hours / 2 dives Date 3: Indoor training 4 hours / 2 dives, theory exam
Session 4: Open water training 4 hours / 2 dives
We conduct the final open water dives at Fühlinger See (Cologne). There is a €15 entrance fee per day for the lake base (paid on-site). You will be responsible for your own transportation. Further information regarding the meeting point, etc., will be provided after booking.
Including:
- E-learning access to the diving association for preparation
- Complete quality rental equipment (including ABC equipment)
- Including entry to the indoor diving center
- Personal diving logbook
- Certification fees
- Brevet: Diving certificate as eCard (digital certification via email and in the IAC account)
The Junior OWD entitles children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 14 to accompanied dives in water depths of up to 12 meters. From the age of 15, the Junior OWD automatically becomes an "Adult OWD."
