TEC ADVANCED
Expand your limits and dive beyond the boundaries of recreational diving
Learn how to plan and conduct decompression dives correctly
The Tec Advanced is the advanced course for those who want to further deepen their knowledge and skills after completing the Tec Fundamental. Perfect the Basic 6 and learn proper behavior in extreme situations, such as bottom failures or decompression failures.
Course content:
This course focuses on critical situations (bottom failures, decompression failures), such as back gas/deco gas failure, and places particular emphasis on problem recognition and resolution. Divers learn how to handle a stage and the associated potential malfunctions. Furthermore, dive profiles requiring decompression with a gas switch are practiced. Mastery of open water ascents, emergency decompression, and diving according to a runtime table are also part of the course.
In theory and practice you will learn, among other things, the following things:
- Stagehandling dry runs
- Basics of decompression, deep stop, deco stop
- Ascent profiles, gas exchange, oxygen window
- Effects of oxygen and nitrogen (MOD, CNS, OTU, END)
- OOA (out of air) situations
- Team diving (formations, awareness, equipment redundancy, etc.)
- Calculating with deco programs
- Calculating a best mix, background of standard gases
- Valve management (closing and opening cylinder valves with changing regulators)
- Basic-6 at target depth (clipping, regulator, mask, valves, inflator, OOA skill (out of air))
- Single stage handling (putting on and taking off the stage bottle on the surface, on the bottom, and while floating, or swapping with a partner)
- Back gas failure (air sharing: diving on the partner's long hose)
- Failure of deco gas (alternating breathing while stationary and during movement)
- Planning and diving of replacement decompression, emergency decompression, missed deco stops
Course duration: 3 days
7 theory lessons
6 dives
Theoretical training:
The comprehensive knowledge of the Tec Advanced course is taught to you in seven theory sessions. Detailed briefings before and after the dives will help you apply and deepen what you've learned.
Practical training: (6 dives)
In six training dives, both indoor and outdoor, you'll learn all the skills necessary to prepare for technical diving courses. The indoor dive center, as well as the sea bases, offer excellent conditions for this demanding training.
Including:
- Complete quality rental equipment (including ABC equipment)
- Entrance to the indoor diving center
- Certification fees
- Brevet (diving certificate in card format by mail) & eCard (digital card)
To gain more diving experience or take your skills to a higher level, you can join the D4L Club or take additional specialty courses.
